Eine Performance Installation mit einem optischen Apparat

Ein Apparat,
ein wenig neu und ein wenig alt,
eine Form der Nostalgie,
bringt das Universum in eine neue Ordnung.
Im Zwielicht wird die Grenze durchlässig.
Innen wird nach außen gestülpt.
Im Zwischenraum geschehen unerklärliche Dinge.
Verborgene Bilder kommen zum Vorschein.

In der performativen optischen Installation Camera Lucida wird der Schrank als Chimäre dargestellt: einerseits ein Apparat, der poetische Bilder erzeugt und andrerseits ein geisterhaftes Geschöpf, das sich von alleine bewegt und im Raum wandert, als ob es einen eigenen Willen hätte.
Für den optischen Apparat in Form eines Kleiderschrankes wird das Prinzip der camera obscura umgekehrt: das Innenleben und die Handlung im Inneren des Kleiderschrankes werden nach außen projiziert.
Yoshie Shibahara agiert live in diesem Schrank, kreiert poetische Bilder, die wie geistige Landschaften der Kindheit oder Erinnerungsfragmente nach außen geworfen werden. Durch das Spiel mit dem Brennpunkt werden die Objekte, die Performerin und die Handlung in den Raum ausgedehnt, komprimiert, verformt und verschmolzen.

Yoshie Shibahara agiert live in diesem Schrank, kreiert poetische Bilder, die wie geistige Landschaften der Kindheit oder Erinnerungsfragmente nach außen geworfen werden. Durch das Spiel mit dem Brennpunkt werden die Objekte, die Performerin und die Handlung in den Raum ausgedehnt, komprimiert, verformt und verschmolzen.
Die Performerin agiert ausschließlich in dem Schrank und ihre Handlung ist auf einen winzigen Raum von ca. 2 qm konzentriert. Die Handlung ist von außen nicht einsehbar, sondern nur als analog-optische Projektion erfahrbar. Sie eröffnet damit die Unermesslichkeit eines Innraumes, der uns normalerweise verborgen bleibt. Der Besucher wird Teil dieser anderen Welt, ohne sie jedoch zu betreten. Dies geschieht, indem das Innere nach außen gestülpt wird - gleichsam als Symbol für die Kommunikation innerer Bilder und Gedanken mit der Außenwelt.
Der Hauptdarsteller, ein einziger Akteur ist der Schrank: - einst wartend als Ladenhüter in einer Trödel- halle in Köln Nippes, jetzt zu neuem Leben als Tsukumogami, Artefakt-Geist erwacht.
Camara Lucida lädt den Besucher zu einer Begegnung mit inneren Bilder ein. Eine Reflexion über die Dinge, die sich hinter dem Scheinbaren verbergen.

An apparatus

In this project, the wardrobe is presented as a chimera, which generates poetic images, and the other is a ghostly creature that moves by itself and wanders in space as though it had its own will.
This optical apparatus, in the form of a wardrobe, the principle of the camera obscura is reversed. It projects the inner life and the action within itself outwards.
The performer, Shibahara acts live in the closet. She creates poetic images, which are like a spiritual landscape of childhood or fragments of memory. By playing with the focal point, the objects, the performer and the action are expanded, compressed and melded in space.

She acts exclusively inside the closet and her action is tied to a space of no more than 2 m³. Her action cannot be seen from the outside, but can only be experienced as an analogue optical projection. It opens up the immensity of an inner space which usually remains hidden from us. The audience becomes part of this other world without ever entering it. This happens when the inside is turned outwards, as though it were a symbol of the communication of internal images and thoughts towards the outside world.
The main, and also sole actor here is the wardrobe, which had been picked up in a junk hall in Cologne Nippes and which is endowed with a new life as a Tukumogami.
